Performing Shakespeare Assembly 2024/25 (English - 15/11/2024)

Calling all Key Stage 3 students!

Get ready for our exciting annual Performing Shakespeare assembly on Friday, 20th December! Here’s what you need to know:

Who can join? This competition is open to all students in Years 7, 8, and 9.

What will you perform? Choose a monologue (if you’re performing solo) or a duologue (if you’re performing as a pair).

Memorise your piece—you’ll need to recite it by heart in front of an audience.

Showcase your skills! We’re looking for strong oracy and drama skills. Can you bring your Shakespeare piece to life using your voice, body, and stage presence?

The Prize: The winning performance at our school goes on to the Regional Finals. If you succeed there, you’ll move on to the National Finals at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London!

Why participate? It’s a fantastic opportunity to build confidence and self-esteem and makes a great addition to college and apprenticeship applications.

Your English teacher will provide more details in class, so start thinking about your piece, and we can’t wait to see you bring Shakespeare to life on stage!
